The gifted vocalist and Masked vocalist judge is going to perform on Broadway in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s renowned musical, Sunset Boulevard, where she will play the part of Norma Desmond again.
The news of the director Jamie Lloyd’s project was revealed on January 2, 2024 morning. Her renowned London co-stars, Tom Francis as Joe Gillis, Grace Hodgett-Young as Betty Schaefer, and Olivier Award winner David Thaxton as Max Von Mayerling, will share the stage with Scherzinger.
The exciting tale of Norma Desmond, a retired silent cinema star who lives in a run-down house in Los Angeles, is told in Sunset Boulevard, which is based on the cherished 1950 Hollywood black comedy by Billy Wilder. Desmond meets Gillis, a young screenwriter, and she becomes resolute in her desire to make a movie comeback.
With a spectacular cast of theater and film stars playing the legendary role of Norma Desmond, Sunset Boulevard has graced the Broadway stage several times since its 1993 West End premiere. Patti LuPone, Glenn Close, and Diahann Carroll are among the well-known actors.
For the third time in 2023, former Pussycat Dolls member Scherzinger made the hit show and attracted the audience’s attention and earned a nomination for an Olivier Award for her outstanding supporting role in Lloyd Webber’s Cats in 2015.
