The most anticipated documentary of Montero Hill, “Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero,” will be aired on HBO on January 27th at 8pm ET.
Apart from HBO, it will be available on another streaming channel Max. Last year at the Toronto International Film Festival during the global tour, its promotions, premiere made its debut by grabbing the headlines.
The documentary is based on the true event of Montero Hill, a Grammy award winner also which covers a span of 60 days during his Long Live Montero tour. The purpose of the tour was to promote the debut album, “Montero,” released in 2021. Throughout the documentary, Lil Nas X narrates about his career and reflects on his unique position as a Black and queer performer in the pop music industry.
Directed by Zac Manuel and Carlos López Estrada, the Oscar-nominated filmmaker behind notable works such as “Blind Spotting,” “Summertime,” and “Raya and the Last Dragon,” Lil Nas X: Long Live Montero promises to be a visually stunning and thought-provoking piece. Manuel’s impressive cinematography and directing credits include projects like “Alone,” “Buckjumping,” “America,” “Time,” “Nonstop,” “This Body,” and “The Cut.”

Lil Nas X has achieved tremendous success with his chart-topping hits, including “Montero (Call Me by Your Name),” “That’s What I Want,” “Industry” featuring Jack Harlow, “Panini,” and the record-breaking “Old Town Road” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus. The song was on the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 19 weeks, making it the longest-running No. 1 song in history. He has bagged two Grammy Awards, including Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Music Video for his talent and creativity skills.
