Singer and Model Kristina Menissov is revealing her magic “Potion” in her new single which hit the streaming services May 3rd. Kristina, who is best known for gracing runways all over the world as well as her numerous magazine covers, is turning the corner in her music career with this very personal expression of herself. Thank you, Kristina, for taking time out of your busy schedule to tell us about your hot, new single called “Potion”.
Can you tell us a little about your newest single?
My new single is called “Potion”. It is a sexy single that is my vision of what confident woman with magic like sexual superpower would sing.
How would you describe the sound behind it?
The sound is very alluring with middle eastern melody and a classical improv for the bridge.
What was the inspiration for the track?
I was raised in the Middle East country Kazakhstan. Growing up I saw how being “sexy” was heavily judged by both male and females and was absolutely unacceptable in the society. It took me a while to learn to accept my own grown-up sexuality and desires. That was the inspiration and acceptance of the “shadow side” of myself and not being ashamed of feeling that and finding power and beauty there.
What is your songwriting process?
Going to the studio to write music is my own form of therapy, but it’s not like I can make myself write anything. I usually feel like I have a lot to say and then I go to the studio and write a demo. Then I could sit on those demos for a long time, just practicing them until the actual recording day of it makes the vision come alive
What message do you hope your fans take away from this new single?
I hope that women who will listen to “Potion” will accept their bodies and feel empowered by their true selves and true desires.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
I would love to collaborate with Jeanne Marie. I love her middle eastern motives and empowering message.
What’s next for you as an artist?
I am working on another empowering single called “Private dancer” that I hope to release by the end of the summer.
