Recording Artist, McKenna Camille, is gearing up for the release of her newest original single. “Three Way” will debut on all streaming services August 16th, 2024. The upbeat track is the perfect track to add to your summer playlist! I recently caught up with McKenna while she was back in her hometown of Portland, Oregon to get all the details about this hot new release.
Can you tell us a little about your newest single?
My newest single is called “Three Way”, it’s an original pop song about people who have nothing better to do than to gossip about you.
How would you describe the sound behind it?
It’s upbeat, it’s sassy, and it’s fun.
What was the inspiration for the track?
I came up with this idea after a good friend of mine got into a messy relationship, where their new significant other was quite insecure about our friendship. When I would hear about how often I would come up in conversation, my reaction was always “God, why don’t you focus on your relationship instead of bringing me into it” and so “Three Way” began.
What is your songwriting process?
I have a note of over 200 ideas in my notes app which I always refer back to when I’m in the studio. All my songs come from real life experiences, so the process is quite ongoing.
What message do you hope your fans take away from this new single?
Not everyone needs to learn this lesson, but if they do then I think the takeaway is you don’t know everything about everyone and sometimes that’s ok.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
Elton John or Sabrina Carpenter which I think are both pretty self-explanatory. I mean they are both amazing.
What’s next for you as an artist?
I have so many new songs coming out in the next year which I’m super excited for and I’ll be performing at NYFW (New York Fashion Week) in September!
