Mila Nabours was born to sing! The daughter of musicians, this talented singer/songwriter started out as a gymnast, but found her passion was in the arts. She began with an acting career and can be seen in the popular Dhar Mann series, but it is music that truly makes her heart happy. Mila has been releasing music for a few years and her fans love it! She recently started her freshman year of college and is learning to balance the demands of a career with the demands of school. Even with all of that work, Mila found the time to get in the studio and record new music which she will release this month. Recently, I caught up with Mila to ask about her music career and her future plans.
Can you tell us a little about how you got started in the music industry?
I started making music in 2021, when I was introduced to a producer I’ve been working with ever since. Both of my parents are musicians and I had been interested in singing for a long time coming, so when things slowed down during Covid I finally had the chance to dive into it.
How would you describe your sound?
My sound is upbeat and pop while also storytelling. I like my writing and sound to be creatively developed in a way that has a fun vibe, but that also expresses a certain concept or story.
What is your songwriting process?
I begin by discussing without my producer how I want the track to sound, and from there he creates a track. Once the track is done, I get into a session with a cowriter and begin planning the theme and story for the song. After brainstorming lyrics and melodies, we go piece by piece through verses, choruses, etc., until we complete a finished song we love.

What message do you hope your fans take away from your music?
I like my songs to be up for interpretation, based on what my audience takes away from the song. However, there are certain messages I portray through my songs about emotions, thoughts, etc. that I hope my listeners can relate to. When it comes to the melody, it’s my goal to put out music that feels good and can put people in a more uplifted mood.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
I’d love to work with so many artists, but in a dream world my ideal collaboration would be with The Weeknd. I admire his song writing and production level on his music, and I feel like a song together would be unreal. The way he puts everything and more into his music and makes you feel something when listening is really what I look up to.
What’s next for you as an artist?
I’m going to be releasing my next single, “Feel So Right” this month! Beyond that, I’d love to take part in more shows, performances, and continue being a part of soundtracks for various films.
