Izabellah Diez is setting her sights on the music world with the release of her first original single titled “Fake Friends”. The track releases on all streaming services July 19th, 2024. Izabellah turned her frustration with friends into an upbeat anthem calling out those friends that she believed were her true friends. In addition to her budding music career, Izabellah is in post-production on the film “Mi Loca Quinceanera” in which she will also include some of her own original music.
Can you tell us a little about your newest single?
My newest single “Fake Friends” was inspired by some life lessons I have been through. Having to learn who is actually my REAL friends and who is NOT. The “Fake Friends” who pretend to want to be my friend and use me and then turn on me, after they get what they want.
How would you describe the sound behind it?
I would describe my sound as more indie pop/rap collaboration. I guess you can say a mix between Rihanna and Jessie Murph.
What was the inspiration for the track?
I have had some friends who I thought were my best friends, actually more like sisters and I was so mistaken. They used everything they knew about me and my past to talk about me and or use it against me. Music is my outlet and my new healing process. That is what was the inspiration for the track.
What is your songwriting process?
My song writing process was that the song started out as a poem. When I was going through what is like a breakup (but with my girl friends) I wrote a lot to express my feelings down on paper. Then I worked with my team to turn it into an original song.
What message do you hope your fans take away from this new single?
The message that I hope the fans take away is to watch out for those people who call themselves your friends and that they can stand up for themselves against those people. It is not healthy to be in any type of toxic relationship. That it is ok to walk away from those who are not your real friends.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
If I could collaborate with any artist, I would say I would love to collaborate with Rihanna, Jessie Murph or Morgan Wallen because I love all of their sounds and music. I l love the messages in their songs. I love a wide selection of music and I think it would be fun to cross over into all these different genres.
What’s next for you as an artist?
I am working on a couple of more singles, and I am also working on songs for the movie we just filmed called “Mi Loca Quinceanera” which is coming out later this year or early next year.
