You may know Mason McNulty for his recurring role of Toby Murphy on the hit show “Schooled”, a spin-off of “The Goldbergs” or his lead role in the film “Danger Force” or “Gacy: Terror in Suburbia”. Now Mason is adding recording artist to his resume. He just released his first single titled “Lessons of Love” currently streaming on all platforms. Mason poured his heart and soul into this single and his fans are loving it! I recently caught up with Mason to get the scoop on this new single.
Can you tell us a little about your newest single?
My new single is called “Lessons of Love”. I co-wrote the song with Agina. We put my feelings down on paper.
How would you describe the sound behind it?
I would describe the sound behind the song as country-pop.
What was the inspiration for the track?
The inspiration behind the song was the past relationships I have had, the heartache that I have been through. That I know I can still find love.

What is your songwriting process?
The songwriting process I found very interesting. I sat down with Agina and we talked out my feelings over several months. Almost like a therapy session as you could say. It was such an awesome process. I am getting ready to sit down with her again and write another song.
What message do you hope your fans take away from this new single?
The message I want my fans to take away from my new single is that don’t give up on love. That one relationship does not make or break you. That there really is love out there for everyone.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
I would love to collaborate with Jelly Roll or Teddy Swims. I love that they put so much heart and soul into their music and so do I.
What’s next for you as an artist?
I am getting ready to film my music video for “Lessons of Love”. Then I will be sitting back down with Agina in the studio to write another song.
