Mery Diamondz is a recording artist based in Los Angeles, California. Mery was born to be a performer, but it took a little time before she wholeheartedly made the leap into the industry. Since her first original single was released back in 2023, she has been setting the music world on fire with her songs based on her personal experiences. Her latest single “Heartbeat” is very special to Mery because it’s about her nephew. I recently had the pleasure of interview Mery on this newest release as well as her plans for 2024.
Can you tell us a little about your latest single?
The latest single, titled “Heartbeat”, was inspired by the moment I found out my nephew was going to be a boy. I crafted the song to connect with people who share the joyous experience, capturing the excitement and butterflies that come with it. It’s about that wonderful feeling when someone’s happiness resonates deeply within you.
How would you describe the sound behind it?
The sound behind “heartbeat” is the rhythmic beat and rhythm that invokes an emotion that brings you closer to people who you love and who love you.
What was the inspiration for the track?
My nephew was the inspiration for this track, who is a miracle. I wanted to write a song about my excitement and share it since it makes my heart beat.
What is your songwriting process?
The songwriting process is a blast. I start by putting my experiences onto paper, then my producer and I work together to find the perfect melody that complements the lyrics. After a few recording sessions, we polish it up until it’s just right.

What message do you hope your fans take away from this new single?
I aim for my fans to always experience that exhilarating rush and flutter of excitement, whether it’s receiving good news or witnessing something wonderful unfold. It’s about capturing that feeling of anticipation, like the heartbeat of a mother feeling her baby kick inside her belly.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
I’d love to collaborate with Rihanna because she embodies strength, energy, and style. Her artistic vision resonates deeply with me, and I admire her as a powerful woman in the industry.
What’s next for you as an artist?
What’s next for me as an artist is to change the industry, and as of today it appears to be broken but I’m working on a lot of groundbreaking opportunities not only for myself but other artists so that way we can make it profitable for everyone again.
