Recording Artist, Sasha Anne is releasing her newest single “Burn Book” on May 3rd. The upbeat dance single blasts all the mean girls she knew in school and could easily have been on the “Mean Girls” movie soundtrack! Not a doormat any longer, Sasha is taking the music world by storm. Her first release was a cover of the #1 hit “Catch Me, I’m Falling and hit number 1 on the Indie Pop Charts. Sasha’s first original single, “Scars”, was up for 2024 Grammy consideration in the Best Rock Performance category and charted on Music Worx, Top 40 New Music Weekly Indie charts, and the UK Commercial Pop Charts earning her a radio airplay plaque. “Looking for Fun” was her second original single and hit number 1 on the Up-and-Coming Charts and Top 40 New Music Weekly Chart. With this momentum it’s no surprise that her fans are eagerly awaiting the release of “Burn Book”. Sasha has been hard at work in the studio finishing up her album for a summer release, but I had the privilege to get the scoop on this new single. You are definitely going to want to pre-save this sure to be chart topper! Burn Book Pre-Save Link
Can you tell us a little about your newest single?
My newest single, “Burn Book” is about me in middle school. It’s about how I was bullied because I had trouble expressing myself with words. The popular girls would laugh and whisper which hurt. The way they looked at me and others said it all. After I finished writing the song with my writers, it reminded me that they were exactly like typical mean girls.
How would you describe the sound behind it?
I would say the sound is very 2007 Miley Cyrus from her Breakout album.
What was the inspiration for the track?
The backing track was created for me by Ron Geffen. We wanted a fun dance track and I love what we came up with!

What is your songwriting process?
I’m given a few backing tracks to choose from and whichever one I’m feeling, my songwriter, GG Ramirez and Bekah Novi and I write to it based on the story I want to tell.
What message do you hope your fans take away from this new single?
I hope that they will be able to relate to it in some way if they were ever bullied or made fun of in school and they understand the typical cliques that happen.
If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why?
I already am collaborating with Jade Starling, singer/songwriter of the group Pretty Poison. She’s my mentor, vocal producer and voice coach. She’s the backing vocalist on some songs on my album which I’m thrilled about. Maybe in the future we will write a song that both our voices can really be on but besides her, I would love to collaborate with Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, Taylor Swift or Miley Cyrus.
What’s next for you as an artist?
I’ll be releasing my album sometime in July and I’m so excited for my fans to hear it!
