Can you tell us a bit about yourself and how your journey into music began?
Hi! My name is Tacey and I’m a bilingual music artist and dancer. I was born and raised in Dallas, TX and I moved to Los Angeles with my family when I was 13 years old. I grew up working in the industry as a professional dancer but I also trained in singing and acting. By the time I was 15 and when the opportunity to start making music came along I had already decided that I wanted to fuse my two passions, music and dance, and that’s how my musical journey started. I have not stopped working on music since then.

What inspired you to become a singer/songwriter?
Was there a moment or experience that sparked it? I guess there was not a specific moment that I can recall but being exposed to music and dancing as well as performing on stage from a very young age made me realize what I love and what my call is. I always knew what I wanted to do, no question, being on stage is the best feeling to me, share my passion, entertain and make a positive impact on people through my art, I live for that!
Who were your biggest musical influences growing up?
Growing up I was always listening to a lot of music, especially being a dancer. I would say some of my musical influences are mix of many artists but a few would be Maluma, Rauw Alejandro, Jason Derulo, Rihanna, Ricky Martin, and few K-pop artists which I love.

Do you remember the first song you ever wrote or recorded?
What was it about? Yes I remember the first song I recorded was an English pop song back when I was 15. The song was about a girl protecting herself from heartbreak with an upbeat dance vibe, it was a good one but it never got released.
How would you describe your musical style or sound?
In a few words I would say my musical style is danceable, sensual, bold, and versatile. I love to explore different genres and I’m not afraid to try and take risks while experimenting.
What’s your creative process like—from writing lyrics to final production?
It’s not always the same process every time. Sometimes I start with a concept for the lyrics and then with my producers we work on the music/melodies and sometimes we need to work on ideas based on tracks that are already created and go from there but it’s definitely a long process until a song is finished. Once I record the vocals the production starts and then mixing and mastering, luckily everything goes smoothly but it’s still a long process with a lot of back and forth before it’s done and ready to be released.
Where do you draw inspiration for your songs—personal experiences, current events, or something else?
Songs are stories, I can definitely draw inspirations everyday from pretty much everything, from personal experiences to future dance visuals that I want to bring to life to tell the story when the song is ready, that’s a big inspiration most of the time!
Do you prefer writing alone or collaborating with other artists/producers?
I love working with other artists/producers I think it’s one of the best parts of the creative process, to share experiences, learn from each other’s and just have the best time at the studio, that’s when magic really happens.
How do you handle creative blocks or moments when inspiration doesn’t come easily?
As artists we all have those days and those moments can be frustrating but I’ve learned that as long as you keep going and have a positive outlook, everything will continue to flow. If I can I step out for a bit, eat something sweet and then restart, it usually works 🙂
What has been your most memorable performance or career moment so far?
There has been so many moments that I’ll cherish forever, I honestly couldn’t pick just one. From every live performance to creating all the visuals and growing as an artist in general, it has truly been the most rewarding experience of all and I can’t wait to keep working and keep going…
How does it feel to connect with fans through your music, both live and online?
It feels sooo amazing. I love that I get to feel people’s energy when I’m performing live, it’s literally the best feeling ever and I’m so grateful for the love that I receive, my heart is full every time after a show. And of course as artists it’s really cool that social media gives us the opportunity to connect and share our videos and music with people around the world, I get the most beautiful messages, it’s a very humbling feeling to know that someone on the other side of the globe knows your name and listening to your music, that they enjoy your work, it’s very inspiring/rewarding.
Is there a particular song that means the most to you personally?
Hmm let’s see most of my songs were very special to me at a certain point, if I had to choose at this moment I would have to say my latest single “Cold feet”. It’s a simple pop record but it does mean a lot to me right now 🙂
What’s been your biggest challenge in the music industry, and how have you overcome it?
I grew up in the entertainment industry and I can say that it is a very challenging industry to be in for so many reasons. It’s a competitive and stressful environment and it can be difficult to find genuine people with good intentions who aren’t out to take advantage and will be there all along the way, that’s probably the biggest challenge. On the other hand I have the most supportive parents who are there for me always, and that is a blessing that not everyone has. I’ve learned that the circle might not be big but if I can trust the people in it and they give me peace of mind that’s all I need.
When you’re not making music, what are some things you enjoy doing?
I like going to the beach, dancing, trying new restaurants, working out, and hanging with my friends.

Are there any causes or issues you’re passionate about and use your platform to support?
I have always been really passionate about animal rights and wildlife conservation. I’ve been supporting Sheldrick Wildlife for a few years now, I even adopted an elephant calf 5 years ago! Animals are beautiful creatures and we’re just living in their world but sometimes we forget that. I also do my part supporting mental health awareness, this is so important and very close to my heart from personal experiences. Dealing with any kind of anxiety is not fun and it happens in many ways. Mental health needs to be a priority. Some have trouble understanding how tremendously this can affect lives. I know I can help other people feel better if they know they’re not alone.
What do you do to stay grounded and take care of your mental and physical well-being?
I love being outside in nature, being in contact with animals, and taking social media breaks once in a while. And of course dancing always helps:)
Are there any upcoming songs, albums, or collaborations you’re excited about?
Yes a lot of stuff is coming!!! I’m currently working on a reggaeton project and I mighttt release a few surprises by the end of the year.
What are your biggest goals as an artist in the next few years?
I would love to go on tour and travel all over the world doing what I love and I would definitely love to collaborate with other artists of different genres and create amazing music together.
If you could perform anywhere in the world or collaborate with any artist, who would it be?
Everywhere but in particular I would love to perform in Latin America and Europe! And only choosing one artist to collaborate with would be insane so a few of my all time top picks would be Ricky Martin, Jackson Wang, Chris Brown, Jason Derulo, and G-Eazy.
One artist you’d love to share the stage with?
Jason Derulo
Favorite lyric you’ve written?
Right now it’s “I’m way too hot for cold feet no not again, cause when the beat drops I’ll be dancing again”
Acoustic or studio version?
Depends on my mood
A guilty-pleasure song you secretly love?
#thatPOWER by will.i.am and Justin Bieber
