Audience witnessed the Travis Scott lose his cool during an intense three-song medley at the 2024 Grammy Awards on Sunday night after losing his first gold award for “Best Rap Album” on Sunday.
On red carpet night, Travis Scott gave a fierce, unsettling performance that included the top picks from his album UTOPIA.
“My Eyes,” “I Know?” and “FE! N” were performed by the rapper while he stood on a menacing stage surrounded by speakers, smoke, and strobe lights. By the end of the medley, chairs and other items onstage were being broken by Scott in anger.
Before going on stage, Scott discussed UTOPIA, this year’s best rap album nominee, in a video.
The rapper remarked, “Things can be calm even though everything else around you is moving at 1,000 miles per minute if you could have a feeling of utopia for one second, or one moment, or one minute, or one hour.” He continued, “And the record is merely my journey in search of that.”
This marked Scott’s first Grammy appearance since the tragic events at the Astroworld festival in November 2021, which left hundreds injured and ten people lost lives.

Metro Boomin’ “Heroes and Villians”, Nas King’s “Disease III”, Drake and 21 Savage’s “Her Loss”, and Scott’s “Utopia” were nominated for the Best Rap Album award earlier in the evening. The 10-time Grammy nominee was taken aback when Killer Mike’s Michael won the night’s prize. To that he reverted and shared an emoji of a raised eyebrow on X (Twitter).
Scott’s Utopia had an incredible 2023, as his song hit third chart-topper and shot to the top of the Billboard 200 with 496,000 album-equivalent copies. Drake, Beyoncé, The Weeknd, Playboi Carti, Bad Bunny, SZA, Kid Cudi, and other celebrities were included on the album.
